Tax Advisor – Business & Transactions | Author | Blogger| Blockchain, IoT & Big Data Enthusiast | Mandela Washington Fellow 2021
I am attracted to anything that promotes personal development in line with one’s goals and vision. It’s important to connect the golden thread from your daily activities through your goals to reach your vision. It should all be in sync.
I am an academic with a very active creative side. This is why you’re here, reading my blog.
My Academic Side
I am living my tax dream. I help start-ups and small businesses optimize their tax processes in support of their business goals and corporate strategy. I am usually engulfed in helping enterprises manage the tax risk of day-to-day business decisions and transactions. I believe that innovation is developing modern solutions for modern problems, therefore, I focus on achieving tax process efficiencies using digital and innovative tax solutions.
In augmenting business operations, enterprises engage in Mergers & Acquisitions (M & A). In the M & A process:
- I help enterprises looking for investors (sell-side) to prepare for the transaction by assessing the level of tax risk and mitigating such risk.
- I assist corporates, private equity firms and other investors (buy-side) to assess the level of tax exposure in the target enterprise.
- I also advise on the tax efficiency of operational and corporate structures, prior to and post investment.
My Creative Side
When I am not wearing my tax hat, I inspire young adults by sharing my life’s lessons through speaking engagements and blogging.
I write anything and I am currently sharpening my song-writing skills. I also dance and when I want to have a relaxing weekend, you will find me in an arts theatre.
However, on most days, I spend time with my child learning and experimenting with drones and other modern technology. After we buy the new drone for him, I am getting myself a 3D printer.
