ZIMRA is driving the tax compliance mission but are they driving it in the right direction?Like in every other organisation, management has a mission and if the mission is not shared with employees who deal with the clients daily then it becomes mission impossible. I have encountered a lot of unpleasant meetings with ZIMRA officers and some of them are just so rude, you would think twice about going back to ZIMRA to sort out your issues.<\/p>\n

Sometimes as taxpayers, we make relentless efforts to bring our accounts to good standing but most times you give up because the ZIMRA officers are just not co-operating. It does frustrate me sometimes but I have to be patient and accept that I am dealing with a government department (sometimes they just don’t care). They actually pride themselves in losing clients’ documents and give out wrong information sometimes (some of us are well-versed with tax law and accounting). After all we are all human, but we ought to strive to be competent in our jobs especially when serving the nation.<\/p>\n
