Did you know that with the introduction of the ZIMRA e-filing platform, every taxpayer automatically falls into the income tax self-assessment category?

In terms of section 37A of the Income Tax Act, every taxpayer classified as being on self-assessment for any tax year, shall be required to file their income tax returns by the 30th of April of the following year. For example, all income tax returns for the 2015 tax year are due on the 30th of April 2016.

It is to be noted with caution that the need to file ITF12 returns falls away because every taxpayer is now classified as being on self-assessment by virtue of the introduction of the e-filing service into the Zimbabwean tax system. Every taxpayer will now be required to file ITF12C returns.

File your tax returns in time to avoid penalties being levied on late submission of returns. And for detailed information and/or assistance, contact Nonhlanhla on taxitzim@gmail.com or call on 0784919645 (also on whatsapp).
