Don’t give up on your dream, you’ve got to keep moving. If you really have to take the long route do that but always remember you need to come back to your vision. Give yourself a timeline when it comes to how long your detour will last. Make the experience count and let it push you closer towards your goal.

Exceeded expectations: My story

I express my expectations the best way possible and I’ve realised that it doesn’t breed disappointment. It opens up the two parties to dialogue which in many instances has led to creating solutions that satisfy both parties. Rather than disappointment, it creates a clear path/environment for sound decision-making.

I gambled my way into a tax career

I rolled the dice even though I knew I might lose. But what if I won! I politely declined the interviews and kept my eyes on the prize. I had no experience in tax and it only made sense to get an accounting job. In that moment, I threw reason out of the window. As people say nowadays, “If I die, I die”. That was my stance.
